You will be supporting database hosted products across multiple instances.You will be required to perform support throughout the day varying from assisting developers and operations support with TSQL queries, providing development & test platforms to develop against, including restoration of databases, managing security and ensuring connectivity and troubleshooting whenever a problem arises to ensure swift availability of the 'production' databases. Requirements The job holder will be enthusiastic about IT/computers as a business solution and will have prior experience in a commercial computing environment in a commercial related field. Experience in engineering projects or a technical support function would also be an advantage.The post holder should have strong knowledge in setting up and maintaining MySQL databases on Linux servers. In addition you will have demonstrable experience working with MYSQL Server technologies in a large environment.Although high-level knowledge of database performance and scalability within a large environment is essential, of equal importance is the ability to troubleshoot quickly and communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
