JNC conditions of service for Youth Workers apply. We will be seeking initially to recruit as a secondment from 6 October 2008 until 11 September 2009. The position advertised is a secondment opportunity. In order to be eligible to apply for a secondment, Council employees must have completed probation and must have discussed the proposed secondment with their line manager.This post works with young people with mild learning difficulties from across the borough. It currently involves two evening clubs (Thursday and Friday evenings) at Four Hills Community Centre in Brigadier Hill in Enfield, and extensive holiday provision during school breaks.Skilled and committed part time assistant Youth Support staff are in post and the work is adequately funded.The post is currently based at Ponders End Youth Centre but will move to Four Hills Community Centre at the end of 2008."This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment".
