Team Management Processes Attend and contribute to team meetings Assist in the management of the team Attend Senior Management Training as directed Discuss and agree the people strategy for the S&G team and specifically for the geotechnical group of that team. Monitor the financial performance of the London geotechnical group and deliver staff support on financial systems. Assist in recruitment and line management of staff including monitoring of staff training and development needs. Business Development Contribute to the preparation of S&G team Business Development Plans Assist in raising the profile of URS and specifically the geotechnical business Focus on key Business Development activities in areas of traditional URS practice as well as identify/develop new market opportunities Maintain and develop existing relationships with key URS geotechnical clients Be aware of Business Development Strategies and initiatives across the organisation and assist in cross-selling opportunities Lead in the negotiation of fee requirements and Scopes of Service for S&G projects with clients and potential clients Prepare Proposals/Tenders that are relevant to the business, completed to the highest quality and that information contained within the documents is current and correct. Communicate with staff, peers, senior management and clients in order to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards and in a timely manner to meet client requirements Technical Competence Ensure the technical accuracy of deliverables produced by the geotechnical group Carry out regular reviews in accordance with the Quality Management System to ensure quality of deliverables and client service Advise on the teams training requirements to ensure technical competence Business Management Implement the Quality Management System and ensure it is adhered to by staff Ensure Health and Safety Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems are applied across geotechnical projects and adhered to by staff Ensure Financial Controls are applied and complied with for each project Review terms and conditions of appointments and contracts, seeking guidance from Legal and Risk Department as necessary, and negotiate terms with clients and potential clients Ensure revenue generated on a project (expenditure of time) does not exceed the agreed fee for each stage of the project Ensure the Brief for each project is clearly recorded in accordance with the Quality Management System and that these are communicated to the relevant Project Managers and Team Leaders Ensure that changes to a Brief are clearly recorded in accordance with the Quality Management System, and that the impact on fees and contracts are understood by the relevant Project Managers and Team Leaders Ensure that information required by the Accounts Department is provided in a timely and accurate manner Assist in the preparation of monthly adjustments and forecasts to revenue to reflect the actual financial situation of each project Undertake Project Reviews in accordance with the Quality Management System Regularly review business processes and suggest improvements where possible Identify training and support needs for the Division and individuals within the Division in order that their roles may be performed effectively and the potential of the business to perform is developed Implement the Investors in People principles Assess client satisfaction during and following projects and implement remedial measures where required. Support Project Managers and Team Leaders in managing performance within the Team through identifying issues and assisting them in addressing any shortfalls.
