Scale 4/5 £16,536-£20,736 Pay award pending. Subject to a pay and grading review the grade of this post may change. 25 hours per week . Term time only. Five afternoons 11.15am -4.15pm 5 days per week. Required to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of current practice in early year's education and care. The post holder will be involved in the planning and delivery of some additional services as part of our Extended School status. Family Link Workers will provide information and support to parents, establishing partnerships between schools and parents that ensure the best possible outcomes for children in our communities. Based in schools, this varied role will involve you working directly with parents and carers of children with early signs of social, emotional, health or behaviour issues. You will help to identify programmes for early intervention and preventative support that meet local needs and support parents. You will: * Work 1:1 with parents * Work proactively with different services in and beyond the school to help parents support their children make the most of educational opportunities * Have a key role in promoting 'at home' parenting in a non-judgemental way * Promote parental involvement in school-based activities, such as parents' evenings and family learningYou will need very good people skills, be an excellent communicator and be good at problem solving. Experience of working with families combined with a sound understanding of the issues and challenges facing families, parents and schools is essential. The role may involve working with a single school or operating across a number of schools and may be with the primary or secondary phase or both. The majority are term-time only and are being offered initially on a two year fixed term contract.
