Contract: Industry sectors:IT Job Description We are currently recruiting a Provisioning and Products Developer to provide an extensive and in depth contribution to the development and maintenance of the in-house systems required to allow Carphone Warehouse Networks to manage their customer base, products and networks. Requirements Work from designs to develop resilient, high-performance solutions that conform to the company's existing standards.Create release notesCreate low level design documentationCreate tests scripts for developed codeAct as the lead developer for smaller projectsTake responsibility and ownership of project based tasks focusing on the development stage, but also providing support where necessary throughout the product life cycle.Diagnose and help with the correction of any technical problems occurring with high profile business products and services.Responsible for the ownership of provisioning products. The job holder will also be responsible for dealing with issues relating to enterprise deployments, such as performance enhancements, bottleneck issues and multi server architecture. Responsibilities The job holder will be qualified to degree level, preferably within an IT related field, though a scientific/maths/engineering graduate may be considered with appropriate work experience and enthusiasm for the role.Strong previous experience in an IT related role, preferably in a commercial computing environment dealing with large volumes of data such as telecoms or banking.The job holder should possess a sound knowledge of .NET framework technologies, using C# and ASP.NET programming. Additional skills in XML, Web Services, Javascript and SQL would be beneficial.Any exposure to client side technology such as Flash or Silverlight would also be of use.Experience of design methodologies, plus any other evolving technologies would be advantageous.Prior experience of dealing with the standard issues related to enterprise scale products. Communication The role will require excellent communication skills as the job holder will be expected to provide support to internal customers on technical issues and to provide essential information to other areas of the business. The ability to influence across all levels and areas will also be essential as the job holder will be expected to have an impact on Carphone Warehouse Networks product development processes. Challenges The key challenge in this role will be the wide variety of projects that the job holder will be involved in. Effective multitasking in a fast paced environment will be essential. The ability to absorb and retain information with a meticulous eye for detail will also be required, as well as gaining a very strong understanding of the processes involved in Carphone Warehouse Networks systems.
