Our client is a national charity that provides care and support to anybody affected by blood cancers. The charity's flagship service is its freephone, staffed 24 hour CARE line. Due to the increased success of this care line, our client is seeking 3 care & support advisors with experience of delivering support and understanding to people in distress and need.
Requirements: An awareness of cancer patients' needs would be an advantage. Have you got the ability to relate to people on the telephone, display empathy and compassion? Can you be a listening and supportive ear, offer advice and friendship and provide information and signposting in a caring manner? Applicants also need to be computer literate, demonstrate good organisational skills and be able to work proactively on their own initiative. A professional approach and good telephone manner together with an understanding of the people the charity assists are essential. A full training programme is offered over the first three months and a small part of the training will take place away from Worcester
